MAG - the Movement for the Affirmation of young Gays and lesbians, was created in Paris in 1990; it stems from the ’Mouvement Adolescence Gaie’ (Movement of Gay teenagers) founded in 1985 in the image of some American social associations. Since October 1997, MAG is a permanent member of the ’Conseil National de la Jeunesse’, the French national youth council. Come visit us!
Our reception centre is located 106, rue de Montreuil, 75011 Paris (metro station : Avron or Nation). We are opened every Friday from 6PM to 10PM, as well as every Saturday from 4PM to 9PM. Once you have passed the door, one of the volunteers on duty will take care of you and tell you all about the MAG. all you ever wanted to know about the MAG without daring asking...
I am in Paris for my studies : can I join MAG ? : A lot of foreign students come to the center every year. It is a very good way of meeting new people, getting to know the gay places in Paris and practising french ! You will often find a volunteer who can speak english, but don’t be afraid : most people will be patient and helpful if you try to speak french.
